We took the 95 south through Georgia to FLA
The band was in good spirits and ready to play
We lost a bag of blow on the stripclub floor that night
Shots ringing out in the woods in broad daylight
You’re either ready to roll over or you’re ready to fight

Well we knocked ‘em dead in Gainsville that Friday
Spent the night in the flatlands, down Williston way
And I swear there were ghosts out in them woods
But everybody was drinking and feeling good

In St Augustine they all came out to play
They lit a fire out back to keep the cold at bay
Folks came and stood and stared into the flames
Nobody understood a word that I was saying
So I bid them all goodnight and walked away
It seems loneliness is a friend of mine these days

I never could get that used to the south
There never was enough up and down
So I headed north for a different point of view
Where the sun was shining warm and the sky was blue
But like a train I just wanted to keep rolling through
